The Bellworks

Merging metal, mind, magic, and memory.

Like any brilliant machine, the Bellworks is the sum of its unique parts: born in Ishgard, proven in Ul'dah, and now seeking to extend its unique brand across all borders, this vanguard of Eorzea's burgeoning industry is home to experts in fields as diverse as engineering, arcanima, and even archaeology. By combining the knowledge of all cultures, the Bellworks believes that Hydaelyn can engineer a brighter, more equal future for all.

Come fly with us as we explore, experiment, and hopefully not explode. We are the Bellworks, and we're ringing in a new era.

About Us

A home for more than just engineers...

IC Info

The Bellworks began over two decades ago as the brainchild of Baron Emmeraux Dufresne, an Ishgardian goldsmith who, guided by his wife's astrological foresight, earned his fortune by investing in the Holy See's nascent industry. His manufactory was inherited by his daughter Eliane, who opened an Ul'dah branch and placed it in the capable hands of a brilliant Hellsguard engineer named Brave Horizon. In that time, the Bellworks has established itself not only as a producer of valuable tech, but also as a humanitarian powerhouse. Indeed, the Bellworks can almost always be found wherever their tools can help others build, rebuild, and prosper.

Its to this end that the Bellworks has begun to concern itself with more than just the mechanical. Cultural preservation is a key concern to the manufactory, for beneficial knowledge spans all cultures and eras. Knowing this, the Bellworks is on a mission to gather, catalogue, and reproduce unique wisdom found all around the world. Wherever your character's from and whatever they're good at, they'll undoubtedly find an enthusiastic platform for their passion among the manufactory's eclectic band of specialists.

OOC Info

The Bellworks is a small-to-medium sized FC on Balmung that has been around since the late days of ARR. Ours is a silly, homey, laid-back, and inclusive community spanning from GMT to PST. We’ve got all the FC amenities, including a stylish medium house in the Goblet.

We gather weekly for All The Things, be it content progression, OOC bonding (such as movie nights), or casual RP. Best of all, we offer regular, long-form, DM'd adventures exclusively for our members!

Despite the obvious engineering theme, we’ve built the Bellworks to fit as many character types as possible. We’ve got engineers, machinists, sappers, businesswomen, and pilots, sure. We also have hunters, arcanists, botanists, warriors, and a historian who speaks like Urianger. We’d love to have you too!

How to Join

How to Apply

1: Please read everything in the Free Company Rules and Policies. They are also available via our Discord in the #fc-rules-and-info channel. If you have any questions about the material there or just in general, please ask in the Discord #welcome channel or contact one of the leaders.

2: Fill out the application.

3: The leadership will review your application and be in contact with you no later than seven days from the day of submission.

4: One or more of the leaders will schedule a time to meet in character. It’s important that we get a feel for roleplaying with your character.

5: If you are accepted, you will join the free company as an Intern. Please use this time to get to know the free company and interact with your peers both in and out of character.

6: After two to four weeks as an Intern, you will either be promoted to full member or a leader will contact you if the leadership does not feel your character is a good fit for the free company. Your Internship may be extended if there are minor issues, or if we feel as though we haven't gotten to know you well enough yet.
